Germantown High School won the 2020-2021 W7 Home School Contest. The contest was part of the W7 annual fundraiser that closed on March 31, 2020. Individuals who made donations or purchased sponsorships or W7 services to W7 to support the promotion and live streaming of high school girls' athletics had the option of being applied to their school of choice.
On the final day of the event it clearly became a two school race between Germantown and Mishicot. The Warhawks, who came in second place in 2019 held on to their lead over the Indians, participating the contest for the first year. Individuals and groups from both Germantown and Mishicot made significant donations in the final hour of the contest making it an exciting conclusion in the final 10 minutes.
The victory for Germantown guarantees them 25% of W7 live streams in 2020-21 for all sports W7 covers: volleyball, golf, basketball and softball.
In the third year of the W7 Home School contest Germantown has become the third different winner following Brookfield Central and Slinger.
"The level of support we have received in each of our first three years has been so overwhelming" said Gary Wipperman, owner of W7 Productions. "This funding will allow us to significantly enhance the delivery of our service, improve our content management platforms, and offer opportunities to even further expand our coverage. I wish to congratulate Germantown for their unmatched support this year and last year. We are so excited for the opportunity to work closely with the Warhawk family in 2020-21 and kick off what we call "G-Tv" this fall. I wish to also thank ALL of our supporters for an amazing response. It is clear girls' athletics has been undervalued for some time and we are now beginning to see how important it is in our state."
